petrified forest

It was time for a mini road trip... so Sunday morning we headed out with the 'painted desert' and 'petrified forest' in mind... 
as you may notice there are no actual live trees in petrified forest... only fallen ones.. so cool though.. 
they are trees that have fossilized and turned into stone.
anyways, this place was FULL of different surprises.. 
from the amazing painted desert, native american ancient homes, petroglyphs, route 66, and more. 
 Hey there "ol' faithful"...
 I was a bit petrified of the forest.... (sry.. had too.)
 It was a tad windy...

    I love this post so much!!! Your pictures are always so inspiring. I love to look at them. I love the gas station picture, so classic.
