our plans for Memorial Day consisted of one thing, getting out and enjoying the land of the free... the land that has been so bravely fought for.
we went for a hike that overlooked a beautiful site of canyon lake.
as we let the flag blow in the wind above us we heard the voices yell in a cheer from the canoes below...
then we heard children's voices shouting in unison...
"I pledge allegiance to the United States of America.. and to which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
next, we found a authentic saloon where this inspiring man who had incredible stories about his time during the war... he was a three time purple heart recipient.
he gets a group together every Memorial day to remember those left behind...
J had a run in with a cacti... it was painful... he didn't cry..
I almost did.
had a cook out with some lovely friends that just ended the night perfectly.... classic :-)
Hope your day was spent respecting, honoring and capturing memories!
Awesome. Just awesome.
